The Olympics are over, but the heartthrob swim champ may not want to hang up his speedo just yet, according to Dr. Sandor Gardos, sex therapist and founder of MyPleasure.com.
Dr. Gardos says that swimming and other aerobic exercises not only have a positive affect on sexual function, but also improve sperm count.
He says, The blood flow from the exercises really gets things moving down there.
For those hoping to speed up their sperms swim time and kick their sex drive into gear, the sexpert suggests they hit the pool at least three times a week, though a little bit of swimming will improve blood flow a great deal.
Phelps may not want to backstroke too hard, however.
Dr. Gardos says its possible to over-train with too many hours of rigorous laps, and some athletes suffer for it in the sack.
