Pudgy Pups Can Still Be Fashionable

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Skinny bitches aren’t the only ones prancing the pavement during New York’s Pet Fashion Week (Aug. 23-24).

If Fido is packing a few extra pounds, pet wear designer Hillary Putnam has ways to hide your pooch’s ponch.

Just like pudgy people, Putnam says hefty hounds should wear vertical, not horizontal stripes.

Shoulder pads help dogs with extra junk in their trunk look less bottom heavy, while black is flattering to almost any pup’s figure.

But keep in mind that doggies come in all shapes and sizes, and dress them accordingly.

Putnam explains, “You can’t dress a dachshund the same way you’d dress a bulldog. You want to slenderize a bulldog, but make a dachshund look sturdier, which can be done with different colors and patterns.”

And just how the little black dress is an essential in any woman’s closet, Putnam says a fashionable leash or harness should be a staple in every dog’s wardrobe.
