‘Lost’ Actor Stays Grounded In Hawaii

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Working in paradise keeps Lost star Jorge Garcia from becoming another one of Hollywood’s blowhard celebrities.

That’s the skinny from the plus-size actor who plays Hurley on the hit show, which is currently filming its fifth season.

Garcia claims filming Lost in Hawaii helps him focus on his work and not worry about maintaining a standard “Hollywood” image.

He explains, “You forget about the Hollywood scene when you’re in Hawaii. During season one and two we’d all watch the show together and it felt like, ‘Oh this is just a little show I made with my friends.’ We didn’t even think of how it was affecting so many people.”

Garcia forgets how huge of a fanbase Lost has until he’s back in Los Angeles and has to re-adjust to being a star.

Unfortunately, when he finally tries to use his celeb status, it doesn’t always work.

As he puts it, “I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on with that island [in Lost] just as much as the rest of America!”
