‘Nashville Star’ Cast-Off Is A Baller

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The latest Nashville Star cast-off likes to incorporate singing into everything, including basketball.

Coffey – a Texas-born country crooner – was voted off Nashville Star this past Monday (Jul. 28), but he’s still ballin’.

During his down time, Coffey likes to play basketball with his pals, something he’s been doing his whole life.

He was on his high school and college basketball team and admits he’d always get technical fouls on the court for singing and dancing in the middle of games.

Coffey explains, “I’d get fouls for standing at the free throw line and singing ‘Celebrate good times, come on!’ or ‘You’re Unbelievable.’ They had party music on during games and I just couldn’t stand still!”

Although Coffey’s teammates enjoyed his b-ball antics, his coach sure didn’t.

He says, “My coach hated it for a while, but eventually he accepted it. He was like, ‘That boy’s strange, but as long as he’s scoring points, let him be.’”

The season finale of Nashville Star airs August 4 on NBC.
