Thats the nerd word from series star Colin Ferguson, who says cast members of the Sci-Fi show about a town of scientific geniuses are actually brilliant.
Many of the actors have parents who are either professors or researchers in the scientific field, and they use their families experiences to base their brainy characters.
The crew also spends time sifting through science and technology magazines and hanging out with a real rocket scientist on the set.
The rocket scientist helps verify storylines and answer any questions the writers, producers, and actors may have.
While Ferguson enjoys being surrounded by smarties, he wishes his dim-witted sherriff character would get more up to speed on things.
He says, Itd be great if my character had a science background so he could jump in during dilemmas and be like, This connects to that. Instead, Im like, This is bad. We should stop it.
The third season of Eureka premieres tonight (Jul. 29) on Sci-Fi.
