Thumb Wrestling Gets Multi-Player Makeover

VIENNA, Austria (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to thumb wrestling, the more the merrier.

An Austrian art and technology group called Monochrom has taken thumb wrestling to the extreme by creating Massive Multi- Player Thumb Wrestling.

Monochrom’s version makes four players lock hands for a finger fight, then connect their free hand to another battle with three other players.

By creating a chain of thumb wrestling matches, creator Johannes Grenzfurthner says the game becomes “infinitely connected,” with the limit of players being “the population of Earth.”

He explains, “We wanted to improve the setting of thumb wrestling and lift it to the next level. There’s more social interaction and it’s funnier with multiple players.”

Grenzfurthner says the biggest crowd to play as of late has been 600 people, and it can get vicious if wrestlers don’t follow the rules.

He explains, “I got stabbed by a player with long nails. I still have a small scar. That’s why people have to wash and trim their nails before playing.”
