Pro Eater Looks To Reign Over Japanese Powerhouse

SAN JOSE (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The East will face off with the West during an epic battle to crown the ultimate weiner eater this Fourth Of July.

For professional eating champion Joey Chestnut, the upcoming Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, happening July 4 in Coney Island, New York, will be his chance to defend his title against his worthy adversary, Japanese power eater Takeru Kobayashi.

After losing to Chestnut 63 to 66 hot dogs in last year’s chowing competition, Kobayashi is coming back with a hunger to win.

Chestnut says, “He won’t accept that I beat him and will do anything to stand in the way of me beating him again. This guy’s an animal. It’s gonna be intense.”

As much as Chestnut wishes Kobayashi would “give up and retire,” he says the Asian eating machine pushes him to work even harder for the crown.

Chestnut even holds Kobayashi as one of the great Gods of major league eating because he, “Eats and goes to the gym 24/7.”
