Ben Franklin To Wed Betsy Ross

PHILADELPHIA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross are getting hitched.

On July 4, Ralph Archbold – the internationally known Ben Franklin reenactment actor – and Linda Wilde – who makes public appearances as famous American flag stitcher Betsy Ross – will marry in front of Philadelphia’s Independence Hall.

The ceremony will be performed by Mayor Michael Nutter, with music by the Philly Pops Orchestra.

Archbold, Wilde, and the entire wedding party will be clad in Colonial attire, and Archbold even has history on his side – literally.

His best man is a close friend who often portrays Thomas Jefferson on TV and in public.

The reception is at City Tavern, where the Founding Fathers went after they signed the Constitution, but the happy historical couple doesn’t want anyone to mistake their marriage for historical fact.

Archbold says, “It’s Ralph and Linda getting married, not Ben and Betsy. They were 50 years apart in age, so they wouldn’t be getting married.”
