Fake Celebs Gather For Real Bash

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Celebrities can be so fake.

That’s the case at the 8th Annual Celebrity Impersonators Convention, which brings up to 600 impersonators to the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas this Saturday (May 24) through May 29 for a week of awards and entertainment.

The event features performances from fake favorites like Bono, Roseanne Barr, Tom Jones, Sammy Davis Jr., and dress-up divas like Whitney Houston and Cher, and is emceed by a spot-on Rodney Dangerfield.

And of course, Elvis is in the building – the convention kicks off with an opening number featuring between 20 and 50 Elvis impersonators.

In additon to regulars like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, founder Janna Joos expects a big turnout from attendees dressed as country crooners like Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins, and Dolly Parton.

Aside from a few mass murderers, Joos has no problem with people pushing the pretend envelope.

Joos says, “We wouldn’t like Charles Manson or Osama bin Laden walking through the door. But if Fidel Castro wants to come, that’s fine.”
