Double The Drama On Duet Singing Show

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new singing competition is doubling the drama.

Can You Duet is a search for the top country music duo, and according to host Rossi Morreale, with two singers, there’s twice the emotion.

Judges on the show have the power to break up country crooning pairs, a decision that left many teams – and even the host – singing a sad song.

Morreale says, “Judges split up moms and daughters and husbands and wives. I would sit outside the audition room and console 47 crying girls in one day. I’m not emotionally equipped for that!”

But it’s not all broken-hearts and ballads.

Morreale says the amazing duos – belting songs by everyone from Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill – leave solo singers on American Idol in the dust.

He says, “Most of these singers already make a living playing in honky tonks. These aren’t just a bunch of people singing in the shower.”

Can You Duet premieres April 14 on CMT.
