Before landing the role of arrogant, awkward Dwight Schrute on NBCs hit comedy series The Office, Wilson worked at a handful of real office jobs in New York City.
He worked in an office as an assistant events coordinator, and later as a receptionist at an ad agency, where he channeled his inner Pam Beesly [Office receptionist played by Jenna Fisher].
Wilson says, I was Pam! But really, I was more of a Jim [John Krasinskis character on The Office]. My heart wasnt into the office work, but I was still really capable. I was a decent office worker, but I dont think they miss me there!
Wilson also did deliveries for a marine supply company for about eight months, a job he was admittedly bad at, since he got in car accidents and lost stuff on the clock.
But one vocation he was really good at was serving.
He recalls, I was a really, really good waiter! I couldve gone somewhere in that field.
New, original episodes of The Office begin April 10 on NBC.
