Three-Year-Old Drummer Heads To College

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A pint-sized drumming prodigy in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, is packing his bags and heading to college.

Julian Pavone is a three-year-old musical master known as the “World’s Youngest Drummer,” who’s just been invited to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston this summer by instructor Dom Famularo, a world renowned drummer.

Although the tom-tom tot doesn’t quite understand the concept of college, his dad, Bernadino Pavone, says Julian is excited about “playing drums with big boys and girls.”

But at the wee age of three, Julian won’t be having a typical, wild college experience.

Julian won’t be living in a dorm or going to crazy college parties, since he’ll be staying with his parents in Beantown.

Pavone jokes, “We’ll be supervising Julian’s entire college experience!”

With Berklee’s impressive list of alumni – including Quincy Jones, Melissa Ethridge, and Donald Fagen – the toddler will surely be proud of his school.

Pavone says Julian will probably wear a Berklee sweatshirt and put a college license plate frame on his tricycle to show his school spirit.

He adds, “We’d love to see Julian grow into Berklee and attend for years to come. It’s an unbelievable opportunity for him.”
