Starship Still Soars On 80s Success

LAS VEGAS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – “Nothing’s Gonna Stop” Starship from staying in the spotlight.

Best known for their 80s hits “We Built This City,” “Sara,” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” – Starship is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary, and frontman Mickey Thomas says the band’s past hit parade isn’t preventing them from still soaring.

Starship’s new single, “Get Out Again,” is climbing the iTunes charts, and Thomas’ plan is to weave the new music in with the more celebrated songs.

He says, “It’s a double-edged sword, having these mega-monster hits. Maybe some of our songs with more substance get overlooked, but we’re grateful. Everybody wants a number one hit, and we had three in a row!”

Though they’re still on the road, when it comes to backstage behavior, Thomas and the band have outgrown the excess of the 80s.

He says, “We have a few beers, and I drink a little wine, but that’s the extent of it.”

Starship plays Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort February 29. For more info, check out
