Actress Tears Up The Track, Feels The Pain

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For her latest role, actress Yaya DaCosta had to hit the track running – and it was painful!

DaCosta – a model and actress who was the runner-up in Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model – stars in the Lifetime film Racing For Time, in which she plays a prison inmate who joins the correction facility’s track team.

But keeping up the pace on set was tougher than DaCosta had anticipated.

She explains, “When I got the part I thought, ‘I’m in shape. Yeah, sure I can run.’ But they had me running next to real track athletes in New Orleans, and it was so hot outside. I ran, but the next day I was so sore and in so much pain, I could barely get out of bed!”

And while the crew praised DaCosta for being “pretty fast” and keeping up with the pro runners, pounding the pavement didn’t transcend beyond the film into her daily life.

She says, “Running isn’t so bad, it’s just not for me. But I kept my cleats from Racing For Time, so maybe I’ll run again someday!”

Racing For Time premieres this Saturday (Feb. 16) on Lifetime Television.
