Super Bowl Showdown: Famous Giants Vs. Famous Patriots In History

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The New England Patriots are favored to win Super Bowl XLII over the New York Giants this Sunday (Feb. 3), but if their mascots went head- to-head, chances are the Giants would take down the Patriots.

If you look back at great giants versus great American patriots in history, the giants have muscles, mass, and might over the patriots.

For example, there’s Goliath, the 10-foot tall Biblical giant from the Philistine city of Garth, and the Jolly Green Giant, muscled master of healthy nutrition, who’s always cheery and smiling, probably because he’s so enormous.

Then there’s brawny, legendary lumberjack Paul Bunyan, who was so gigantic his booming voice forced other lumberjacks to wear earmuffs year-round. Legend has it that Bunyan and his massive blue ox, Babe, created Minnesota’s Ten Thousand Lakes with their Earth-shaking footsteps.

And while the Pats have iconic, hard-working American patriots on their side like Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere, and Patrick Henry, realistically, the average-sized men wouldn’t stand a chance against the towering giants.
