Bob Saget Makes A ‘Deal’ After Talking To Howie Mandel

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bob Saget said “Deal” to his latest showbiz gig only after hearing some sound advice from gameshow host Howie Mandel.

Saget – who currently hosts the NBC gameshow 1 vs. 100, where contestants are pitted against a “mob” of 100 other players while they answer trivia questions – says he only signed on to the gameshow gig after Deal Or No Deal host Howie Mandel told him how fun hosting a large-scale gameshow is.

Mandel – who has roots as a comedian just like Saget – also told the Full House alum just how different he’d act as soon as the game began and a contestant’s grand prize was at stake.

Says Saget: “Howie told me, ‘No matter how cynical or comedic you are, you’ll get more involved with the contestants than you ever thought.’ And it’s the truth. I’m always worried about contestants, rooting for them to win.”

And although these days Saget is known for his R-rated humor, when he’s hosting the family gameshow, his riffs are strictly G-rated.

Saget adds, “They let me get away with little things here and there, but it’s a family show, so I don’t want to do adult humor. There’s no way I could host 1 vs. 100 with my brand of humor.”

1 vs. 100 airs Fridays on NBC.
