‘Sharpshooter’ Actor Leaves Crazy Characters On Screen

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One acclaimed actor is leaving his psycho characters where they belong – on screen.

James Remar is the star of Sharpshooter, a Spike TV action film where he plays a government-hired assassin, and for Remar – known for his violent, villain roles in The Warriors and 48 Hrs – grabbing a gun is all in a day’s work.

He says, “I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare, but I used my various experience firing weapons as an actor to get familiar with the role.”

But while Remar has a career’s worth of weapons work behind him, playing crazed characters doesn’t affect him like it used to.

Remar says, “It’s still pretty tough to leave that stuff behind you, but I’m playing less of the really demented bad guys than I used to.”

But despite his sharpshooting skills, there’s one aspect of his career Remar isn’t so quick to take aim at.

He says, “I don’t worry about being typecast. I’m way too old for that.”

Sharpshooter airs January 27 on Spike TV.
