James Remar is the star of Sharpshooter, a Spike TV action film where he plays a government-hired assassin, and for Remar known for his violent, villain roles in The Warriors and 48 Hrs grabbing a gun is all in a days work.
He says, I didnt have a lot of time to prepare, but I used my various experience firing weapons as an actor to get familiar with the role.
But while Remar has a careers worth of weapons work behind him, playing crazed characters doesnt affect him like it used to.
Remar says, Its still pretty tough to leave that stuff behind you, but Im playing less of the really demented bad guys than I used to.
But despite his sharpshooting skills, theres one aspect of his career Remar isnt so quick to take aim at.
He says, I dont worry about being typecast. Im way too old for that.
Sharpshooter airs January 27 on Spike TV.
