Keep Your Cool This Holiday Season

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The holidays can be a hectic time, but one etiquette expert has some calming advice to keep your celebrations sane and safe.

Barbara Pachter is a business etiquette expert and author of The Power of Positive Confrontation (Marlowe & Co.), who says the key to keeping cool during the busy holiday season is stopping your stress before it starts, and confronting crazy cousins with confidence.

Pachter says, “If you’re fighting, you have to figure out what’s really bothering you and what you want from the other person. Instead of throwing things, go talk to the person!”

Pachter also preaches tolerance with frustrating family members, but urges you not to freak out if your holiday dinner becomes a bit boisterous.

She says, “Arguing is healthy, it’s about how you handle it. There are going to be disagreements, you just have to deal with them in a polite and powerful way.”
