Thats the idea behind OfficeMaxs new website elfyourself.com, where people can upload their pictures, paste their faces onto the bodies of animated, dancing elves, record their own greeting, and email it to their friends.
OfficeMax spokeswoman Jennifer Rook thinks the elfin greeting is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays, and a quirky alternative to your standard greeting card.
Rook says, Elfing yourself is surpassing electronic greeting cards. Its great because it makes people smile, which is what the holidays are about. Its a little off-the- wall, but its fun!
Besides people elfing themselves on the site, Rook says people have been elfing their pets, inanimate objects like dolls, Hollywood celebrities, and current presidential candidates.
Rook says, We dont know whos the most popular candidate to be elfed yet, but maybe well hold our own elections to find out!
And Rook believes Father Christmas himself would even enjoy the silly site.
She adds, I think Santa and his elves in the North Pole would get a kick out of it. The elves on there have some good moves! Theyre not quite the Rockettes, but Santa would appreciate them.
