Latino Talk Show Host Makes His Mama Proud

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One Latino talk show host is breaking TV barriers – and making his mama proud while he’s at it.

Cuban-American comic Alex Cambert is hosting a new Spanish language late-night talk show called Mas Vale Tarde on Telemundo, where he’ll interview Hollywood A- listers in both English and Spanish, in a “salsa-fied” Jay Leno-style setting.

And while Cambert hopes his talk show helps celebrate the best of American and Latino pop culture, it’s Cambert’s Cuban mother who’s celebrating her son’s bilingual entertainment gig.

Cambert explains, “My mom is so excited about the show, she’s always searching for information about it online. I’ll call her to see what she’s doing and she’s like, ‘Te Estoy Googleando!’ She’s looking me up on Google and tracking my every move!”

Cambert’s proud mom, along with the rest of his family, are showing their support by attending the upcoming tapings of the show in Los Angeles.

He says, “When they hired me to host, they knew my family came in the deal, and that they’d be in the audience a lot. My whole family is coming to the tapings – they travel in packs like wolves. I’m convinced that the week they’re here, Miami’s population will go down by hundreds of Cubans!”

Mas Vale Tarde premieres Thursday (Nov. 29) on Telemundo.
