Korn Frontman Digs Neil Diamond, Duran Duran

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One headbanging hard rocker will be showing a softer side on his new solo tour.

Jonathan Davis is the frontman for hard-rockers Korn, but when he hits the road next Friday in Hartford, Connecticut, (Nov. 9), for a mostly acoustic tour, he’ll be bringing along a toned-down sound and some guilty pop pleasures.

And it’s a change of ear-punishing pace he’s ready for.

He says, “It’s the complete opposite from what I do in Korn – this is more kickin’ back and intimate.”

And while Davis will break out “totally flipped” versions of Korn songs like “Freak on a Leash” and “Alone I Break,” it’s some clever cover songs that may shock audiences.

Davis will be playing “Love on the Rocks” by Neil Diamond, as well as “Blue Monday” by New Order and even songs by 80s pop giants Duran Duran.

Turns out, Davis’ tastes aren’t as dangerous as you’d think.

He says, “I’m a kid of the 80s. I love new wave. I didn’t start listening to metal until Korn started.”
