‘Beauty and the Geek” Cast-Off Gets Bad Rap, But Knows His Rap

TRIXVILLE, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For Beauty and the Geek cast-off Tony Tran, reality TV didn’t capture his best angle.

Tran – who was the first “geek” to be eliminated from the competition this past Tuesday (Sept. 25) – is disappointed about how the show portrayed him, which, in his words was, “Kind of like a wuss who cries all the time.”

In reality, the A.T. Still University biomedical engineering student says he’s not as shy as he was depicted on the show, and that his college major requires him to talk to people everyday, so he can’t be too quiet either.

Another thing viewers didn’t get to see is that Tran does have knowledge of rap music – even though he couldn’t answer a question about Vanilla Ice during elimination.

Tran explains, “I just blanked during the question. I’m a big Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan and right after we lost I remembered how Vanilla Ice rapped in the second Ninja Turtles movie and I couldn’t believe I forgot that. I like rap!”

Beauty and the Geek airs Tuesday on The CW.
