‘Big Brother’ Heals Family Fracas

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For the final two competitors of Big Brother, life in the house was a fragile family affair.

Dick Donato defeated his daughter, Daniele, on Tuesday’s (Sept. 18) Big Brother season finale, and the father-daughter pair – who were estranged for two years prior to the start of the show – say despite the challenges, their confined quarters gave them the bonding boost they needed.

Daniele says, “I cried more during the whole season than I ever have, but if it hadn’t been for the show, I still wouldn’t be talking to him.”

Dick agrees, “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. This was playing a game with my life. It’s a stepping stone, and we’re going to try to create some normalcy now.”

And there’s another positive side to mending their broken family fence.

Daniele says, “I never had a father figure, but after this I realize everybody needs a mother and father in their life, and I can only move forward.”

Dad Dick adds, “It’s amazing to be an inspiration to people. If this helps people reconcile with their family, then, you know, right on!”
