‘Cane’ Cast Cools Off With A Cocktail

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The cast of a brand new drama is doing some research for their roles by channeling their inner cocktail connoisseurs.

Actors Nestor Carbonell, Eddie Matos, and Paola Turbay play Cuban-American siblings who run a successful rum and sugar business in the upcoming series Cane, and they have some particular preferences when it comes to tasty rum cocktails.

Says Matos: “I love Mojitos, but Cuba Libres are the best. Every day my dad comes home from work and relaxes with a Cuba Libre and now that I’m of age, I can enjoy one with him.”

Carbonell adds, “My favorite is just a simple rum and Pepsi. It has to be with Pepsi though.”

The actors may share an affinity for the liquor they sell on the series, but Matos gets a little overprotective about rum sometimes.

Matos explains, “I got my mom a bottle of very nice rum for her birthday, and I said, ‘Mom, it’s from the heart, just don’t ever open it! Put it on the wall instead!’”

But unfortunately for the rum renegades, they don’t really get to sample the sweet stuff on the set of their show.

Turbay explains, “The rum on the show is very nice rum with no alcohol in it!”

Cane premieres September 25 on CBS.
