Fashion Search Grows Up

DALLAS, Tex. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re 35 or older, one mature modeling competition could put you on the fast track to fashion fame.

TV Land and Wilhelmina Models are getting together to find the next face of fashion with their upcoming show, The Next Great Supermodel, but all beautiful babes born after 1972 better back off.

Casting director Andrew Strauser says, “We’ve already seen modeling competitions with young girls. This is a demographic underserviced on TV and in fashion.”

And while the women may be more mature, Strauser says that all the babes bunking in New York loft may bring out the cattiness in the catwalkers.

Strauser says, “The drama can happen. It’s not necessarily our intention to create it, but if there are some sparks, so be it. Just because they’re older, doesn’t mean they’ll be boring or less dramatic than any of those reality show kids.”

The Next Great Supermodel is set to air in Spring 2008, and the first open casting call is September 27 in Los Angeles.
