Disney Channel Mom Makes Puppets Cool Again

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A puppeteer mom on the Disney Channel series Johnny And The Sprites is making puppets cool again.

Puppet master Carmen Osbahr voices sweetheart sprite “Lily” on Johnny And The Sprites, and while tons of kiddies enjoy her muppet musings, Osbahr’s toughest critic has been her seven-year-old son.

Osbahr – who’s also worked with Jim Henson, voicing “Rosita” on Sesame Street – feels “super cool” with her gig on the Disney series because her son has given it his seal of approval.

Osbahr explains, “My son is in first grade and he used to get embarrassed to say I worked for Sesame Street, because he thought those puppets were for little babies. But when he told his friends I was Lily on Johnny And The Sprites, he was cool again, so now he tells everybody!”

But while Mom certainly has the Lily hook-up, Osbahr’s son doesn’t take advantage of the situation.

Osbahr says, “He never asks for private puppet shows or Lily to come to his friends’ birthday parties because he’s lucky enough to come to the tapings of the show. Plus, Lily would never do a birthday party – she’s too fabulous!”

Johnny And The Sprites airs Saturdays and Sundays.
