Rookie Soap Starlet Learns The Tricks Of The Trade

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Rookie soap starlet Ambyr Childers is learning the tricks of the soap opera trade, but first, she has to memorize her lines.

Childers, who plays wild child Colby Chandler on the hit soap, All My Children, is learning to keep up on the fast-paced set of the drama, and admits memorizing her script has been one of her most trying tasks.

Says Childers: “There’s always tons of new material to memorize, so it gets overwhelming at times. I practice by writing my monologues over and over again on paper until I don’t have to look at the script anymore.”

And Childers has one more trick for remembering her lines.

She adds, “My boyfriend is great because he reads my script with me every night. Thanks to him, now it only takes me a couple of run-throughs to get it right!”

But despite her memory jog, working alongside experienced co- stars like daytime TV’s leading lady, Susan Lucci, still intimidates Childers.

Childers explains, “The soap veterans only look at their scripts one time, right before their scenes, and still nail their lines. It’s crazy how good they are!”
