Hairy Chests Take Over Alaska

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Guys in one Alaskan town are ripping their shirts off and embracing their inner mountain man.

The Grizzly Alaskan contest bears down on Fairbanks, Alaska, this Saturday (July 20), and as part of “Golden Days,” the city’s annual celebration, it’s sure to be a hair- raising happening.

Contestants are judged in five groups of scruffiness: hairiest legs, hairiest chest, bushiest beard, wildest moustache, and – don’t walk away – ugliest feet.

Jewelz Nutter, President of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, says it’s always a close shave when judging the “Frontier Feet” competition – because nobody wants to get near them!

Nutter says, “The judges always say that’s the worst contest to try to judge.”

For those manly men unsure of what kind of beard to bring to the bash, Nutter says look at the audience, not the mirror.

She says, “It all depends on the crowd. Sometimes they like the wild fluff, sometimes they go for length.”
