Soldier Plays Golf On Last Leg

DALE CITY, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An amputee soldier wounded in Iraq by a mortar has left the deadly desert for some golf on the green.

Avid one-legged golfer Sean Lewis is spreading the word about PGA’s disabled military golf program, which helps disabled vets “putt” their woes behind them.

But Lewis wasn’t always a fan of the golf course.

In fact, Lewis always thought golf was “stupid” until a good friend challenged him to give it a swing.

However, the sport initially made the Army man very “teed” off.

As he puts it, “I tried it with my prosthetic leg on but I couldn’t do it. So after saying a few choice words and throwing my leg behind me, I realized I could hit the ball on one leg, and I loved it.”

And despite the soldier’s disability, he still has a killer score to be reckoned with on the green – a whopping 76.
