‘American Idol’ Producers Need ‘Help!’ With Beatles Songs

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s been a “Hard Days Night” for American Idol producer Ken Warwick, who has spent the last six seasons trying to get a Beatles theme night together for the show.

Warwick has been fighting to get clearance to perform the fantastic foursomes’ songs on the Idol stage for years – to no avail.

He laments that Beatles jams are notoriously difficult to obtain rights to, but predicts that this year things are get more promising than ever for a future Idol-style “BeatleMania.”

Says Warwick: “We are finally in active dialogue and negotiations for Beatles songs, but we’ll see what happens.”

But getting the rights to the timeless tunes are only half the battle.

Warwick has had lots of trouble finding a worthy mentor to coach the Idol contestants through a Beatles theme night and insists he “can’t just get any artist” for the job.

He adds, “We need a mentor that’s up to the challenge and can bring justice to the Beatles genre. Until we find ourselves a deserving mentor, we won’t be seeing a Beatles night on the show just yet.”
