Rutgers First Female Grad ‘Digusted’ By Don Imus

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Don Imus has been making lots of people angry lately – and he isn’t making the grade with Rutgers’ first female grad either.

Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph – best known for playing Brandy’s mom on Moesha – was actually the first woman to ever graduate from Rutgers and says she’s “disgusted” with Imus’ derogatory comments about the women’s basketball team.

Ralph is disturbed by the radio veteran’s “nappy- headed hos,” remark, but says it was more of a sexist than racist comment.

Says Ralph: “His comments were a slur against women, period. Everyone’s been quick to play the race card with this, but have failed to see that it was actually a slur about women in general. The minute he referred to them as ‘nappy- headed’ it became racial too.”

Ralph adds that Imus’ words were not funny and can’t believe that an “ignorant man” would try to tear down everything women at the university have worked for over the years.

However, after all is said and done, Ralph speculates the controversy will help make the women’s team stronger.

She adds, “They’ll persevere, and any team that plays them after this better watch out on the basketball court!”
