Or so says Jo Barrett, author of The Mens Guide To The Womens Bathroom (Harper Collins), which gives a behind-the-scenes look of what really goes on behind closed doors of womens bathrooms.
Unlike the mens room, Barrett says the womens bathroom is a secret confessional, where women bond, discuss and form a community of trust, and get advice.
For instance, while researching the book, Barrett met a woman who told her the best advice came during a ladies room rendezvous when a woman told her: Honey, dont be a welcome mat to a man, be the door hes lucky to walk through.
Barrett also says the bathroom is where she learned her most valuable lesson about men: They dont marry eager women.
Since the advice found in the womens room is universal, Barrett believes its one of the most comfortable places for women to approach other women.
Says Barret: Nobody ever tells anyone to mind their own business in the ladies room. Conversations include every woman in there.
