Robin Antin, the woman behind the popular group, says she wants to keep the Dolls going forever and figures the new reality show, Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll, is the first step to that goal.
As she puts it, Theres been so many incarnations of the group, and it gives girls so much opportunities anything is possible.
Although Antin looks to the 1980s-era boy band Menudo for inspiration, Antin says the Dolls are different because she tries to highlight each girl and not just focus on anyone in particular a la Ricky Martin.
As she puts it, All the girls have their strengths and help continue to keep the group strong.
Once the show finds its new Doll, Antin plans to keep the membership at seven but hopes to have full-on Doll shows featuring 12 or more girls in cities like Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
She explains: Its definitely been a platform for many girls who want a solo career. I dont want to get rid of anyone, but its definitely not the end point for everyone.
Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll airs Tuesdays on the CW network.
