Kids Sad Parents On ‘Amazing Race,’ Happy To Go On Rosie O’Donnell’s Cruise

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Most kids are excited when their parents get to be on TV but that wasn’t the case with the latest Amazing Race: All Stars rejects.

Coal miner David Conley and his wife Mary won America’s hearts in the tenth season of the reality show, but both admit their kids weren’t as excited they got picked for All Stars because it meant they would have to leave them behind for the second time in less than a year,

Says Mary: “It’s hard to be away from them for so long – it gets to be really difficult.”

However, Mary and David admit there were so many perks from being on All Stars that they just couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

One of their favorite perks? Having the entire family be special guests on Rosie O’Donnell’s gay family cruise ship.

The couple says the family had a blast hanging out in the Caribbean even though they never got to thank O’Donnell personally for the invitation.

As David puts it, “We didn’t get to meet Rosie because our flight was delayed. The kids were sad about that because they wanted to thank her in person for all that she’s given us.”

Amazing Race: All Stars airs Sundays on CBS.
