Panama City, Florida, Once Again No. 1 Spring Break Spot

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The annual rite of Spring Break is a hot topic at American colleges and it looks like Panama City, Florida, is ground zero for them.

Brad Nelson, who organizes college-oriented Spring Break trips for Inter Campus Programs, says Panama City, Florida, is the No. 1 destination for college students for the second year in a row, followed closely by South Padre Island, Texas, and South Beach, Florida.

Nelson says Panama City is getting the students thanks to a combination of nice beaches, good nightclubs and “reasonable room rates.”

Meanwhile, Acapulco, Mexico, is the No. 1 international destination, but Nelson says trips out of the country are down this year because of the new rules regarding passports.

He admits: “It takes six weeks to get a passport and college students are notoriously not big planners.”
