Newest Wiggle Not Squirming At New Gig

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s hard joining an established band but the newest member of the Wiggles isn’t squirming at his new gig.

Sam Moran officially replaced Greg Page as “the yellow Wiggle” a few months back and, so far, the childish audiences have been very supportive – no kidding.

As Moran puts it, “We don’t pretend I’m Greg, and we explain why he’s not there.”

Moran has a different singing style than Page, but the Wiggles perform their tunes exactly as they sound on CDs and their popular Disney Channel show.

But while Moran is now the yellow Wiggle, he’s not green to the job. He’s been Page’s understudy for four years before taking over the gig.

There have been some surprises.

Moran is amazed that the group is so popular with adult musicians like Metallica guitarist James Hetfield, Mick Fleetwood and John Fogarty, but is philosophical about it.

In his words, “I guess they use us as a way to get their own kids into music.”

The Wiggles are currently touring the U.S.
