Or so says Kim Morgan, who has come up with some party ideas in her latest column for the online movie ticketing service Fandango.com.
She says the flick is a much better theme for an Oscar viewing party than serious dramas like Babel or Letters From Iwo Jima.
She suggests inviting guests to dress up in blue taffeta, false eyelashes and bouffants and having them dance to classic Motown.
In addition, the menu should feature backstage goodies like sandwiches, donuts, fruit baskets and M&Ms.
Morgan also says Little Miss Sunshine has party possibilities especially for those on a budget.
In honor of the films characters, she recommends eating take-out chicken in the bucket, drinking Sprite out of liter bottles and serving everything a la mode.
Finally, Morgan says fans of The Departed should wear snazzy trench coats a la Jack Nicholson and eat lots of crab to salute the films Boston setting.
She also recommends holding a contest to see how many creative expletive-laden ways your guests can insult each other.
