Winger Reunites: Beavis And Butt-Head Need Not Apply

NASHVILLE (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The rock band Winger has just released its first album in 14 years, Winger IV, but Beavis And Butt-Head need not buy.

Winger was big in the late 80s but bass player and leader Kip Winger admits things took a downturn when the TV show, Beavis And Butt-Head made fun of the band by having a nerdy character wear a Winger T-shirt.

He laughs about it now but admits that if the show had declared the band cool, like White Zombie, they would’ve sold “a few million more records.”

Ironically, that diss has actually kept up the band’s profile throughout the last 14 years so, Winger admits, “it’s like we never went away.”

These days, there’s no stigma because, as he puts it, “No one under 25 even remembers Beavis And Butt- Head.”

Winger will be playing a New Year’s Eve show in Pittsburgh and starts a U.S. tour in February.
