Andy Williams Predicts Next Christmas Classics

BRANSON, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Singer Andy Williams has given the world Christmas classics like “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” and “Happy Holidays,” so it would seem he has a good ear for holiday tunes.

Both those songs recently made the list for top 25 Christmas tunes of the last five years and Williams jokes that because of that, “I have December all locked up.”

Williams isn’t just resting on his Christmas music laurels.

He still spends much of the year looking for new holiday tunes to perform on his annual Christmas tour, which this year begins December 11 in Binghamton, New York.

This year, he is predicting that “River,” a Joni Mitchell tune that appears on James Taylor’s new Christmas album is one tune that he feels is going to become a holiday standard in coming years.

He also has high regard for “Mary, Did You Know?” which was popularized by Clay Aiken and Kenny Rogers.

Williams plans to sing both of these songs on the tour but says he tells his audiences that, if he has to choose, his “favorite Christmas song is ‘Moon River.”’
