Noah Wyle Gives Nerds A New Reputation

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Noah Wyle is giving nerds a new reputation – especially bookworm librarians.

Wyle stars as a geeky hero in The Librarian: Return To King Solomon’s Mines which premieres December 3 on TNT. He plays Flynn Carson, an academic, Indiana Jones-style hero who is responsible for protecting humanity’s greatest secrets.

Wyle, best known for his as dreamy Dr. Carter on E.R., says portraying a smart “action-nerd” on The Librarian has its perks.

Says Wyle: “I think I’m giving nerds everywhere hope that anyone can be an action hero.”

He adds, “I’ve also received some pretty gratifying fan mail from the Librarian’s Association of America thanking me for giving nerdy librarians a new reputation.”

Wyle studied hard for his role and jokes, “I was taught that the best way to play a smart character is to act like an idiot. That was easy.”
