‘Hellboy’ Creator Hopes Trick-Or-Treaters Dress Up As Character

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re trying to find a last minute Halloween costume, the creator of the comic superhero Hellboy has a super easy idea: Dress as his character.

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola says anyone can be the red-faced, devil-like creature just by using two Dixie cups, a piece of string and some red face paint.

Mignola says he’s seen many homemade versions of the costume at various comic book conventions but the Dixie cup and string invention takes the cake.

He’s hoping the costume will take off with his biggest demographic – 5 year-old boys and their mothers.

Says Mignola: “Ever since the movie came out I’ve had so many parents come up to me and tell me how much their 5 year-old loves Hellboy.”

Plus, he figures the “Hellboy-oween” costume is good promotion for his latest project, an animated series called Hellboy: Sword of Storms that debuts Saturday (Oct. 28) on the Cartoon Network.
