Stella Awards Pays Tribute Those Those Who Try To Cheat The System

RIDGWAY, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you remember the woman who sued McDonald’s after spilling hot coffee on herself, then you might want to listen up.

That’s because author Randy Cassingham has come out with a new book called The True Stella Awards (Plume) which profiles some of America’s most ridiculous lawsuits.

The book is named after Stella Liebeck, the grandma who successfully sued the burger chain back in 1992.

Cassingham says he is amazed that Americans get their “undies in a wad” so quickly over “petty stuff” that results in frivolous lawsuits. He’s even more surprised that so many people win their cases.

Says Cassingham: “It’s all about wanting something for nothing – it just shows what a whiny society we are.”
