Singing Lawyer Write Political Pop Song: ‘I Used To Be A Liberal’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A singing lawyer in Nashville, Tennessee, is hoping to get liberal amounts of airplay for his political pop song, “I Used To Be A Liberal.”

Jesse Goldberg was inspired to write the song after hearing both talk show hosts Donnie Deutsch and Rush Limbaugh say, “A conservative is a liberal who got mugged,” and decided to put the idea to music.

Some of the lyrics in the timely tune include, I was a bleeding heart liberal until I got mugged/ I used to help the homeless now I call them lazy slugs/ I hide my Smith & Wesson where I used to hide my drugs/ I was a bleeding heart liberal until I was mugged.

Goldberg knew he was on to something when a liberal friend of his protested the song. As he puts it, “This guy is offended by anything that makes fun of what he believes in.”

He’s getting such a good response for his liberal tune that he’s already working on a follow-up called “Southern Baptist Jew” about a guy who’s trying to hedge his bets by joining every possible religion.
