But one gastroenterologist in Chesapeake, Virginia, says you can avoid potential embarrassment by eating junk food before getting nasty.
Dr. Patricia Raymond says many healthy foods like brussels sprouts and strawberries can bring on healthy amounts of gas and warns couples to steer away from them if they are planning on hooking up later that night.
She also says its important to substitute foreplay food like milk chocolate and champagne with dark chocolate and red wine.
She admits these food might not completely curb the problem and if you feel a fart coming on there really is only two things you can do. As she puts it, You either have to suck it up or just let it out.
To avoid gas altogether, Raymond says taking a charcoal-filled capsule called a CharcoCap after eating will absorb gas and remove odors.
