Boy Band Menudo Plans On Making A Comeback

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The boy band Menudo is making a comeback, but don’t expect Ricky Martin to be shaking his bon-bon on a reunion tour.

That’s because it’s going to be a whole new generation of Menudo boys and 35-year-old Martin is too old to make the cut.

Auditions for the revamped band begin in October and Menudo’s managing partner Jeffery Weiner wants boys who are between the ages of 15 to 19 who can sing, dance and speak both English and Spanish.

Also like the original Menudo, the new group will have five members – but hopefuls shouldn’t look to the old band for musical inspiration.

Weiner says he plans to steer the group away from the sugary bubble gum pop that made the original boys stars and focus more on hip hop instead.

Says Weiner: “We definitely won’t be doing any cover songs from before – we really want to focus on what the kids want to listen to now.”
