‘Rock Star: Supernova’ Cast Off Matt Hoffer Not Sure What Band Wants

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke say they want their new rock band, Supernova, to have a modern sound, but the first singer eliminated from the their reality music show, Rock Star: Supernova, suspects they want to stick with the tried and true.

Matt Hoffer – who was ultimately booted from the competition after two poorly-received renditions of songs by The Police and Duran Duran – says that at the show’s press junket, Lee, Newsted and Clarke mentioned a number of modern bands they liked, such as Snow Patrol.

However, when Hoffer heard Supernova’s new song, “Glam Bed,” he says he began to suspect that they “are going for an ’80s thing like Axl Rose.”

Hoffer has no hard feelings, though, and says he’s looking forward to seeing the final lineup of Supernova once the show ends and they tour in 2007.

Rock Star Supernova airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on CBS.
