Montreal resident Al Cabino has spent the last six months organizing an online petition demanding that Nike make Marty McFlys self-lacing moon boots available to the public.
The petition can be found at petitiononline.com/future2/petition.html and, so far, has more than 20,000 signatures from shoe lovers in 50 countries.
Now, hes trying to lobby Fox and other Back To The Future folks such as Steven Spielberg, the guy who played Biff and Elijah Wood, who had a bit part in the 1989 film, because he figures their signatures will carry weight with Nike executives.
Although there is a rumor that Nike will come out with the shoes in 2015 when the film supposedly takes place Cabino doesnt want to wait that long.
Regardless of what happens to the shoes, Cabino is walking away a winner. Hes been offered the chance to edit a sneaker magazine and says a book and film deal is in the works.
