Sneakerographer Walking Towards ‘Back To The Future’ Shoe Goal

MONTREAL (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Montreal-based “sneakerographer” is one step closer to his goal of getting Michael J. Fox’s tennis shoes from Back To The Future II made for real.

Montreal resident Al Cabino has spent the last six months organizing an online petition demanding that Nike make Marty McFly’s self-lacing “moon boots” available to the public.

The petition can be found at and, so far, has more than 20,000 signatures from shoe lovers in 50 countries.

Now, he’s trying to lobby Fox and other Back To The Future folks such as Steven Spielberg, the guy who played “Biff” and Elijah Wood, who had a bit part in the 1989 film, because he figures their signatures will carry weight with Nike executives.

Although there is a rumor that Nike will come out with the shoes in 2015 – when the film supposedly takes place – Cabino doesn’t want to wait that long.

Regardless of what happens to the shoes, Cabino is walking away a winner. He’s been offered the chance to edit a sneaker magazine and says a book and film deal is in the works.
