Every Dog Has His Work Day

KING, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Every dog has his day – and now his work day as well.

That’s because June 23 has been declared “Take Your Dog To Work Day” by Pet Sitters International.

This is the eighth year of the dog workday and spokesman John Long is predicting a record number of workplace pooches – at hospitals, accounting firms and even construction sites.

“Take Your Dog To Work Day” was created to inspire non-pet owners to adopt orphaned pets, but Long says it’s still important to follow a few rules of the canine workplace so that your fellow employees don’t have a bone to pick with you.

A big one: If you have a male dog, make sure he’s neutered; if she’s female, remember bitches in heat are an office no-no.

Also, double check all your pet’s shots are current – and Fido’s free of fleas and ticks.

Of course, it’s your duty to bring only potty-trained pooches in to work –- but make sure you have “poop bag” and cleaner handy, just in case Bowser drops a biscuit.
