Donnell Rawlings Getting No Calls Backs From God Yet

HARLEM, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Donnell Rawlings, best known for his work on The Chappelle Show, says despite his rising star, he still ain’t heard back from God, yet.

Rawlings was one of Dave Chappelle’s critical contributing writers and the creator of such memorable Chappelle Show characters as “Ashy Larry” and ’70s jheri-curler, “Beautiful.”

These days, he’s turned his meteoric comedic rise into a reality/comedy pilot for Comedy Central – which he’s creating with Chappelle Show alum Charlie Murphy – and a popular run as a guest host on a morning talk radio show in New York City.

According to Rawlings, working in radio “ain’t all that different from stand-up: it’s still just talking s with a big microphone.”

Rawlings adds that while his newfound fame has opened doors, there’s one call-back he’d like that he hasn’t received yet.

In his words: “I’d like to work with God, but He needs to clean out His message box – I keep leaving messages and still ain’t heard nothing.”
