Variety Is The Spice Of Simon Cowell’s Newest Venture

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Simon Cowell isn’t remaining idle this summer; he’s bringing variety to his life – and to the TV set.

Cowell is the creator of America’s Got Talent, a variety show debuting June 21 on NBC, and he says, unlike American Idol, he really has no clue who will win the $1 million grand prize.

As he puts it, “There’s a 14-year-old singer and a 68-year-old rapper and, on paper, you’d argue against putting them on TV, but we’re giving them a chance.”

The show will feature singers and dancers, of course; but ventriloquists, jugglers and male strippers also have a chance to strut their stuff in front of a panel of judges that includes actor David Hasselhoff and pop star Brandy.

So far, Cowell has been impressed with how honest the judges have been, though he admits he’s been surprised at their reaction to some of the talent.

In his words, “I didn’t realize Hasselhoff is allergic to jugglers.”
